Article #1: You guide me

Psalm 73:24 "You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny." (NLT)

We all would like a life of peace and free of hassle. I want such a life and I hope you do too. We all want to finish this life well and look back on life and say "what a great finish!" There is a glorious destiny for each one of us provided we work with the One and Only who has the key to such a life.

We are reminded in this Psalm that Jesus Christ will guide us with counsel, and lead us to a glorious destiny. Remember that your destiny is not defined by your past, or the present struggles you are going through. Your destiny is great according to the WORD of God. I checked the word "counsel" and this word means to advise, guide, direct, instruct, encourage and to warn. Christ is saying, "If you allow Me I am willing and ready to advise you on which way you should go because I know the best way for your life."

He is not only willing and ready to advise; He is also ready to guide you along the way. He wants to mentor you as you go through the journey of life. This is not all; He wants to direct you in the path that you should go because He surely knows the way that leads to a great life. He has the correct map or GPS to a great destiny! He is willing and ready to instruct you in a way that matches your DNA according to His master plan and to further encourage you when you meet giants or show stoppers along life's path. He also would like to warn you of the dangers along the way.

What a great way to live! You see, friends, God had it all figured out before you were born. What makes you think that you know the way? So far it is evident that you do not know the right path. Jesus knows! Trust this Guide!

There are conditions to be led in this glorious manner. The conditions are these: will you let Jesus advise, guide, direct, instruct, encourage and warn you? Will you follow what He tells you? Will you cooperate with His sweet Holy Spirit as He works with you? The question is, "If you could do better, should you?"

Action Exercise

1. List two areas in which you want Christ to lead you.

2. Allow Him to advise and guide you — just let Him, through prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus I thank you for your willingness to advise, guide, instruct, and direct my life. Please help me. I relinquish the leadership of my life to You and ask that You help me be sensitive to the leading of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
